I Will - Victoria Leverett
(Matthew 4:19, John 6:37, Matthew 11:28, John 14:3, 14, & 21 & Deuteronomy 31:6)
Come To Me, I will give you rest
The Lord our father says that if we come to Him - trust in Him, He will give us rest. I can't tell you how many times I forget this. A lot of times, I think I can do it on my own and then BAM as soon as I hit the ground, I start freaking out and remember that there is a God who will give me rest at all times. The beauty of this verse is that I can come to the Lord at any times - all the time, and I see and feel that promise He gives me rest.
Follow Me, I will make you fishers of men
Ever since I was a child, I had always wanted to be a missionary. Go out into the world and witness to other people of God's love. But once I read this verse, I noticed something. This verse says Follow Me..... THEN I will make you fishers of men. So in other words, if I am not right with God, or if I don't have that relationship I am talking to others about having, I am not being honest with MYSELF. I have to know the Lord first before I make Him known out to the world! I have to follow the Lord before before I can tell other people to follow the Lord. But once I do that, the Father promises me that He will make me a fisher of men. What a wonderful and humbling promise for me and you.
Ask in My name, I will give
A lot of times, I will ask for something from God and expect it to be done. But what I realize is, I need to be asking some questions. What does God want. Is this for me or for God? I believe that if our will is aligned to Gods will, that it will happen. But maybe not right away. Gods delays are not His denials.
I will never leave you or forsake you
Out of all of these promises, I think this one is my favorite. I can't even tell you how many time I have screwed up and still am swerving up in my life every day. But the Lord is is full of Grace still promises me that He will never leave me. To have that promise even after I sin and ask the Lord time and time again to forgive me of what I did, He has never turned away from me. It would be me that is turnig away from the Lord. He doesn't get farther away from me, rather, I run away from Him.
